There is a new exhibition in the Hall Napoleon of the Louvre that is a must-see show for anyone that is a fan of Italian art and culture. A Dream of Italy: The Marquis Campana’s Collection is aptly named.
This show brings together a series of items from the vast collection of The Marquis Campana that showcase different elements of Italian art, culture and history. It is a fascinating little tour of the countries and its context on the world’s stage – all within one of the great halls of one of Paris’ finest art establishments.
The collection was, at the time, the largest private collection ever to exist. Over time, the items were divided up and loaned to other museums and galleries.
This is a great opportunity to bring some of the most important painting, sculptures and other artifacts together. Visitors are urged to make the most of the chance while they can.
A Dream of Italy: The Marquis Campana’s Collection is shown from November 7, 2018, until February 18, 2019
