Barbie, the exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs

From March, 10, to September, 18, 2016, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs will turn the spotlight on Barbie, the doll that marked the childhood of millions of girls, and turned to be an icon symbolizing a significant era of a whole generation.
A timeless fashion icon and always on top of trends, Barbie continues to reflect its time and inspire many artists for over 50 years, and continues to delight little girls, teenagers and adults alike.
The Museum of Decorative Arts invites us to discover which makes of Barbie such an icon through this significant exhibition. More than 700 Barbies, outfits, and accessories will be exhibited at the museum in order to shed light on the company and its development since 1959.
The exhibition will cover the different lives of Barbie, perhaps the most fulfilled woman in the world: doctor, businesswoman, femme fatale, mannequin, president, racing driver…
