Jeff Koons paid tribute at The Centre Pompidou

The American artist Jeff Koons is paid tribute at the Centre Pompidou through an exhibition held from November 26,2014 to April,27,2015. 

Jeff Koons is in fact the most famous contemporary artist in the world. A former Wall Street broker who used the codes of a consumer society to produce a very creative work of art.

Thus, the Centre Pompidou offers Jeff Koons's his first major retrospective in Europe, presenting a chronological exhibition of his greatest works – considered thereby the most famous works of contemporary art.

Jeff Koons was born January 21, 1955 in York, Pennsylvania, United States. His career began with finance, with long experience of commodities trader on Wall Street. He was never expected to begin an artistic career, and this is indeed what makes the singularity of Jeff Koons as an artist.

This exhibition brings together one hundred sculptures and paintings tracing the 40 year career of the artist, hundred works from public and private collections around the world.

Jeff Koons’ retrospective at the Centre Pompidou has been a success as it attracted 112,844 visitors during the first 2 weeks. With an average of 6,638 visitors per day, the controversial artist is really leading the race and may be leading the Centre Pompidou to hold the record of the most visited exhibition center.
