Portraits by Cézanne

The exhibition "Portraits by Cézanne" is on display at the Musée d'Orsay from June 13th to September 24th, 2017. On the occasion of this unique exhibition, you will be able to discover exceptional works by Cézanne that the organizers have managed to source from numerous private collections and popular museums around the world.
This is the first exhibition that is entirely devoted to the portraits made by Cézanne and showcases more than 50 of his portraits in a chronological order. Although he was an avid portrait painter, this aspect was never given any importance previously.
Notable exhibits like Madame Cézanne in a Yellow Chair as well as portraits of his uncle Dominique dating from the 1860s are on exhibition. The different pieces on show throw light on this artist's analytical approach to nature which influenced the Cubists and Fauvists later. So, don't hesitate to visit it!
