Your programme for March in Paris

Paris is a party all year round! From the charm of summer terraces to the magical atmosphere of Christmas, each season has its specific attractions and events. Are you planning to take a break at the Hôtel de la Motte Picquet in March? Here's some of what you can look forward to...
Contemporary art in the spotlight
Two major art world events will take place in the coming weeks. The first, entirely devoted to contemporary drawing and entitled Drawing Now Art Fair, will be held at the Carreau du Temple from March 23rd to 26th. This is part of an overarching event, the Semaine du Dessin (Drawing Week), which offers many activities throughout Paris. At the end of the month, from March 30th to April 2nd, the Art Paris Art Fair sets up its stalls in the Grand Palais Éphémère, less than a 10-minute walk from the Hotel de la Motte-Picquet. This is the capital’s annual international gathering for contemporary art professionals, collectors and the interested general public.
The sporting side of Paris
March is also the month that brings a prestigious sporting competition to the capital: the Saut Hermès. From March 17thto 19th, the best riders and mounts of the international show jumping scene will compete in the temporary but impressive surroundings of the Grand Palais Éphémère. Mastery, grace, elegance and physical commitment are the hallmarks of this challenging CSI 5* level competition. Between the main events, you can enjoy equestrian displays and carriage races. Enthusiasts delight in this magnificent tournament, while the uninitiated discover the beauty, excitement and demanding nature of show jumping.
Paris is constantly reinventing itself by hosting trade fairs, shows, sports competitions and art fairs. In March alone, the programme is a full one, offering many possibilities. Take advantage of your stay at the Hotel de la Motte-Picquet to discover some of them.
